一、中文意思不同

1、themself的中文含义有他自己，她自己；

例句：The two have very great conflicts themself.

这两者本身有很大的冲突。

No one perceived themself to be in a position to hire such a man.

没有人认为自己能做主雇用这样一个人。

2、themselves的中文含义有他们自己、她们自己、它们自己等；

例句：They themselves had had a similar experience.

他们本身就曾有过类似的经历。

They all seemed to be enjoying themselves

他们好像玩得都很开心。

二、用法不同

1、themself是通过反身代词指代主语，使施动者把动作在形式上反射到施动者自己。因此，反身代词与它所指代的名词或代词形成互指关系，在人称、性质、数上保持一致。比如：我自己、你自己、他自己、我们自己等等。这就是反身代词。

2、themselves是复数第三人称反身代词，在句中多用作宾语，有时也可用在主语或宾语之后充当同位语，此时多表示强调，作主语的同位语时还可置于句尾。themselves偶尔也可用作主语和表语。themselves有时与某些动词搭配可指“身心处于正常状态”。

三、使用场合不同

themself常被用于2000年以前的英语教材当中；themselves则被用于2000年以后的英语教材当中。
